Perspective - Free spiritual conversation app

Posted by Anne Witton on Monday, June 1, 2015 Under: App review

It can sometimes be difficult to know how to get a conversation about spiritual things started without it seeming weird, which is why I like using tools like Soularium which make spiritual discussions natural and fun.

Another tool that I’ve found helpful is the Perspective app, which has the added bonus that it’s free and you always have it with you as it’s on your phone. It can help you explore your worldview on your own, but is probably more useful with one or two other people so that you can discuss your ideas together.

Perspective allows people to share what they believe, explore the Christian worldview, and take the next step on their spiritual journey in an environment where they feel safe.

The user interface of the app is attractive and it’s easy to get the hang of. You can play with up to 4 people and there are 5 questions to explore covering the following areas:

  • Nature of God
  • Meaning and purpose of life
  • Human nature
  • Who Jesus was or is
  • How we get to grips with spiritual truth
Each question has a number of cards for you to choose in response, each of which have a short explanation and diagram. For some questions, you might want to pick more than one answer.

After each category, the app prompts you to share more about what you believe and how you came to hold that view.

When you’ve finished, there’s the option to have your results emailed to you. You’ll receive a link to your results and there’s also a ‘Next Steps’ section where you can decide how you want to respond and follow the link to more resources.

You can also save the game and make notes so that you can pray for people.
